It’s another sad day in the reggae community, according to recept reports, Buju Banton’s lawyer had filed an appeal to overturn the star’s conviction but It was dismissed.
The appeals courts believes that the jury’s decision to convict Buju Banton in Feburary 2011, he was found guilty of three charges related to his cocaine case. His legal team attempted to file an appeal, citing entrapment and possible violation of constitutional right.
Buju is currently purging a 10 years which he started at the Limestone County Detention Center in Texas but was later transferred to a federal facility in Miami after he complained about ill-treatment and fear for Buju’s safety. He is set to be released on Febuary 1 2019.
