Olivia relives the nightmare of the day the Observer came on earth, causing a big explosion and her daughter disappeared. Peter wakes her up from it and reminds her that their daughter is with them, years later and safe. As she cleans up in the shower, she looks at pictures of her daughter’s family pictures.
Meanwhile Walter is testing the ‘thoughts unifier’ which seems to bring up him knowing portugese and Swedish. Olivia reminds Walter that he always documents everything he does so he must have, they decide the must go back to the Harvard lab which Henrietta says became ownership to the Observer as some type of base but Walter tells them about the underground tunnels. They found them and travel until the lab, they found a camera ambered. They need the power back up so they can laser through it to retrieve the camera. A loyalist interrupts them and gets captured. As they realise they need the power from the science building, they quiz the Loyalist who remains mums until Henrietta uses the angel device, which destabilizes every atom in his body, that a full charge steals 30 years out of his body but since this one isn’t charge, steals less. That he becomes disoriented, which causes him to lose the will to lie or hold son to dear life until his heart fails.
He remains mum until Olivia comes in, has pity but she reminds her that her world is different from what she knows, that they would sell their own kind and are pure trash. As Henrietta goes to see Walter, Olivia maintains that she knows he came to feed the birds that no one is looking for him and should simply talk, that he should have something to live for. He tells Olivia he joined the loyalist because his son had died, that even if he speaks, he won’t live, that he promises to tell her everything if she promises to tell his son no to look for him, that he’s never coming back. She promises and he tells them what he knows about it. He does tell everything he knows and his access code which also includes his eye for the ocular scanner. Walter decides to re-produce his eye with a pig eye. As Peter and Henrietta reaches destination, the eye does work but they aren’t granted access as they attempt to contact the Loyalist,Manfretti, he plays along, that Number 19th requested he changes a bulb, they believe his lie and access is granted. Manfretti asks Olivia, if she really believes they can win, she answers that they have to win, so all these people who died, including his son, didn’t die for nothing. As Henrietta passes by, she sees Simon’s head and ready to to shoot up to place but Peter stops her to remind her, they have to stick to the plan so they can all pay later but not now.
Henrietta and Peter comes back, as Olivia apologizes for what happened to Simon, she reminds them that the loyalist are trained to lie, that he has no son, that he gave her the code because he saw her weakness, that he could get manipulated that maybe you could let him go. Olivia still tells Henrietta that she understands how hard it could be but Henrietta counters that she doesn’t know her world, which she agrees but she still hopes, that wherever she was, she wasn’t hardened by what happened, that she sees what the Observers have done but what concerns her is what they have taken away. Manfretti, gives the address to Olivia and she tells him that she keeps her word.
Henrietta sedates Manfretti and drives him. She stops on the road and drops him. As he awakes, she asks him about his son, which he confesses that he doesn’t have one, that he had hoped she would have been able to convince her to let him go, that she was right, he is a coward and was the reason he joined the loyalist. She tells him to go and before he does so, he says he will join the resistance, she quizzes him on why he’s lying despite knowing he’s free to go, he tells her that he saw in Olivia’s eyes, certainty that he never seen before, that he felt for the first time, that they are supposed to win. He then ask her why she’s letting him live and she say she saw something in Olivia’s eyes too, pity, for all of them.
She records him leaving and feeds it to Olivia, who smiles. The crew watches the tape, on which Walter explains on each tape, there will be instructions documented on each tape of the plan and they will be able to restore ‘us’ and rid the world of The Observers.
