Mariah Carey E=MC2 Album Review

The 38 years old barbie doll is back with her 11th studio records showing to all of her fans that she still has whatever she had when she first started and even more. She set world records by surpassing Elvis amount of number and now going for the Beatles. Needless to say Mariah Carey is a diva. Album released date is April 15th 2008. Being a Mariah Carey fan since day one I'm glad to see her back.

I'll have to admit that this album is similar to her previous one. This one seems to be embracing hip-hop a little bit more but still singing about love. She featured with one of the (worst) Hip-Hop artists in the industry, Young Jeezy, T-Pain and also Reggae singer Damian Marley. Yes i was surprised about this one cause she never talked about having any kind of foreign artists on her album. It's still a good one even tho Emancipation of Mimi was a lot better but i still loved it.

Besides her Hit single Touch My Body and Migrate that she sang at Saturday Night Live. Those are the tracks i was feeling the most.

I stay In Love:
This one is by far my favorite one on the entire album. The love story and her playing her voice i could feel she was enjoying the track. This is a must to hear.

The Last Kiss :
To me sounded like a revamped of the We Belong together. You can hear Jermaine Dupri's Vocals in the back. She sings about kissing him goodbye and wanting him back and that their last kiss can't be the last one since they love it too much. She sang this one perfectly.

Thanks For Nothing :
This one was dedicated to those girls tired of getting played accompanied with a nice sound to it. Getting played, betrayed and getting over it. That would be a wicked anthem for the ladies. In This one she killed it with her vocals.

For The Record :
I'de say this is the second best one of the album. A nice track with some deep bass while you close your eyes and imagine your first time and the reason why you would want to press rewind and relive everything. That's what she sings about and you can feel it through your entire body. That one gave me goosebumps. This one reminds me of Mary J Blige's song Be without you. Same baseline probably same producer.

Bye Bye :
I believe must have been for someone she lost recently because she dedicates it to anyone who has lost someone that they cherish and by the lyrics sounds like she's either talking about her mother or grandmother saying how she never understood but she kept her in line. Beautiful ballad and meaningful words.

I wish You Well :
This one reminds me so much of My All From her the Day Dream album. Only a piano and Mariah Carey's Lovely voice.

I hated the That Chick Song even tho the beat was like a retro dance i couldn't stand it. Perhaps someone who loves those kinds will love it but i don't think that's Mariah's style.

Overall the album was good no where near as good as the Emancipation of Mimi but still worth to buy but i doubt will ever reach greatest hits like her many of her previous one. Mariah Carey Did it again with Her E=MC2. So Go Cop it.

I like the album alot. I am actually proud of Mariah. She did her thing on the album. You could really hear that she has matured more of course. I'm just happy tht she is happy and her life is going the way she wants. God Bless Her!!!!!! I love how she has the lyrics on the pages of her album, but I really dont care for those pictures!! I still love you Mariah!!!!

i agree....its a good album...similar to her last one, but not quite as good.....and even though there are solid trax, it doesn't really have any smash hit singles.
a good summertime r&b album......

there's also a good bonus track that was on the japanese version of the album.....its called 4 real 4 real feat. Da Brat. its actually pretty good. if u want it, pm me....
