I seldom think about it,
yet its always on my mind.
when and how its gonna happen,
I know, its so much to handle, but
i cant seem to rid myself of its presence,
i'll sit quietly admiring its secret ways,
the way it just creeps up out of nowhere,
not caring how to make its introduction,
but always do, without a mistake,
then you're shaken, then taken, in a heartbeat,
the last one, they say its scary being
in the moment,
some say its enlightening to a point,
some say its painful,
some just dont say.
Like a thief in the night,
it approaches,
but theres no babylonian to stop it,
once it's set on its journey to cop you,
theres no turning back,
theres nothing for you to do.
Then i wonder, why do i dwell on it,
when theres nothing that i can do to stop it,
its always on my mind, yet i seldom think of it,
it stops me so many times from moving forward,
no matter how hard i try to ignore it,
it makes sure i dont,
so i frequently wonder when and how,
and if ill be able to finish what i started 20 years ago.
the old lady did,
the old man did,
i wonder if they thought about it as much as me,
is it just a phase to go through?
if not, then why is it always on my mind?
If so, still, why is it on my mind?
