Black History in the UK

Knowledge of black history in the UK what’s that?
The school aint teaching youts nothing that’s black.

All they teaching is about wars, death and destruction.
What about the people who made a contribution?

They be teaching us that our dreams can come true and our lives can be something substantial.
So why don’t they tell us about Mr Kings Dream and how it came true I cant think of a better example.

Now let us take time out to reflect and think of days of old.
Where there was more to life then the things you own and the stories of peoples live been told.

Imagine living in fear not knowing if tomorrow will come because of the colour of your skin.
Imagine going to your local shop for a pint of milk and the shopkeeper not letting you in.

Imagine the hatred towards you imagine the adversity.
Imagine being in your own house and wishing you were free.

It’s the simple things in life that we take for granted.
Things that people like Malcolm X fought for to help black people to be free to do the things they wanted.

Martyrs like Malcolm and Martin they died for our cause.
To help make the world a better place for families like mine and yours

We no not where were going, till we know from whence we came.
Really and truly when it comes to our lack of knowledge of our history, we only have ourselves to blame.

There’s so much to say and not enough time when it comes to black history.
So when you have time research, find out for yourself don’t just take it from me.

Well perhaps they dont teach us because half of these people were racist....

Example malcom x was the most recist and got killed by another black man for religion perhaps thats why they dont teach nothing about him? his not even in the dictionnary

as for martin luther king up here they thaught us about him.....not as much that we all would want to but we werent that many black in the school either....

Plus you guys has to also read about the BAD THING these guys did as well....same way ppl are bigging up Muhamed ali and all.....read his book and see if his a nigga worth bigging up...

Us black ppl love to big up any black man who does thing without going deep into history....

see all dats true all dats true...but with every wrong there's aright...every white man we learn aboiut in shcool was a rapist murder biggot but we still learn why...because they 'good' they did inspire the generations after....so yeh we have to have balance in knowledge but look in perspective they are humans the black men im talking now...they have amde mistakes took stances that werent always ideal but its the mistakes they made we should be taught so we can learn from and given new directions and good they did to give us inspiration...every knowledge with a touch or spoonful of guidance goes a logn way...kinda funny black people doin da ame tins over and over again...hmm i wonder why...its not for lack of role models its for lack of knowledge of these people as people and not jus a footnote ina textbook
