Black History in the UK
Knowledge of black history in the UK what’s that?
The school aint teaching youts nothing that’s black. All they teaching is about wars, death and destruction. What about the people who made a contribution? They be teaching us that our dreams can come true and our lives can be something substantial. So why don’t they tell us about Mr Kings Dream and how it came true I cant think of a better example. Now let us take time out to reflect and think of days of old. Where there was more to life then the things you own and the stories of peoples live been told. Imagine living in fear not knowing if tomorrow will come because of the colour of your skin. Imagine going to your local shop for a pint of milk and the shopkeeper not letting you in. Imagine the hatred towards you imagine the adversity. Imagine being in your own house and wishing you were free. It’s the simple things in life that we take for granted. Things that people like Malcolm X fought for to help black people to be free to do the things they wanted. Martyrs like Malcolm and Martin they died for our cause. To help make the world a better place for families like mine and yours We no not where were going, till we know from whence we came. Really and truly when it comes to our lack of knowledge of our history, we only have ourselves to blame. There’s so much to say and not enough time when it comes to black history. So when you have time research, find out for yourself don’t just take it from me.
