Right click My Computer > Manage > Disk Management> From here you will see your new unactive disc( just right click on it and make it active)

are u trying to boot from that drive?... sorry im not keen on the lingo and not sure wat exactly a slave drive does

but.. if u are tryin to boot from it try....

*do on ur own risk*

try enterin the BIOS screen at startup.. not sure wat key u press cuz evry machine is different.. anyway it will tell u the command key at startup... and from there see if u can change the boot priority blah blah

k start from scratch... Make sure the other harddrive (master) pin is set on master(you will see the pin and configuration on the underside of the HD..

Now for the slave HD depending if its a Sata or IDE you will need to remove the pin or set it to (Slave)

Now when you boot up go to the Bios set up (press Del or F2 when booting) Go to boot sequence and set the Master to the first boot so the PC dont try to boot from the slave first.

When you boot up you sometimes you will not see the HD in My Computer ...Go to Right Click My Computer > Manage>Disc Management and click on the new HD and make it active and you on like boil corn

Ok, first things first @ the post screen (where it does the memory checkin n all that other stuff).... do u see both HD's show up there? ... if it (secondary) doesnt could be a prob with ur cable, or HD... itry setting it to cable select... btw is it an IDE or Sata HD?

lol @ the instructions tho..cuz typically thats what u'd do..

If you're trying to boot from the second one you have to make sure that the other one isn't set as a "master" if both are set as master...some might cras (give you an error message) or certain pc will boot the first one connected from the Wire or has the proper windows install....

and that Second HD why are you trying to boot from it? to recover your files? there are other ways to do so...and another reason you might not be able to recover it is because it's corrupted as well
