Limewire and Computer Speed

I know this to be a common problem that anytime Limewire is open the computer slows down drastically because it uses so much space but I was wondering if anyone knows a way to resolve this issue or at least a way to make the comp run a bit faster while its open?

press ctrl+alt+del... and click on the processes tab... look at which progs are running/how much ram each is using/ and what percentage of ur pc each is using... most likely the biggest one is the one slowing down ur pc... BUT be careful which processes u end...

check if it is hashing files.. i know wen ares is hashing it tends to be a resource hog.. if it is hashing.. u can try to turn the hash priority down (but to be honest i never used limewire b4.. so im jus suggesting based on wat i went thru wit other programs)

ye limewire runs based on java which would be one of the causes for it to kill ur resources....but as giffy said u'd wanna check to see if it hashes its download library n if u can tone that down even a lil.. other than that theres not much else u can do for limewire.
