Fans Not Pleased With Sean Paul Winning Mobo Award
He recently won best reggae album at the Mobo Award, in the same race were Serani, Mavado, Taurus Riley and Vybz kartel. Few people were left upset and seems to be implying that the results were rigged.
They said that it's impossible that he won best awardy keeping in mind that his album just recently released during tehs ummer. Marvin Sparks spoke about it : "yougive this to Sean Paul? Been inactive for 3 years (same length since wehad a Reggae artist), released one dead song (which didn't sound Reggaeto me but still), 'bout to release another dry song, yet you bless himwith a MOBO? Is that how cheap a MOBO award is? " He continued by saying Serani should have won : "That was Serani's award. Can't we go back to when you helpedbuss songs to the mainstream? Without MOBO I doubt Beenie Man's Who AmI, Mr Vegas' Heads High or Sean Paul's Gimme Di Light would havecharted so high (Beenie top 10, think other 2 were top 20), Seranideserved that award." I'm not too sure IF he has a point because Sean Paul's album has reached all time highest, I feel that people are basing their "preference" over numbers, If i recall right Vybz don't seem to sell that much : Guess Kartel's Album Sales Number. We should as well keep in mind that Sean is signed to a Major label. He named Serani, his album didn't even drop yet, It's set for October. Which makes his points invalid. Am I wrong?
