Buju Banton, well known amoung gays especially for he's lyrics has met with Gay activist this week. He had a numbers of his game shot down because of them. So i would say he had no choice but to meet them up cause money running short.
Right before his Monday concert he made the decision to meet them, according to Francisco Weekly, it took place at the Courtyard Hotel In Larkspur, California. He was with his manager and a few Gay, Bisexual , lesbians and transgenders. The activist expressed concern about his hit song back in 92 "Boom Boom Bye", I'm sure everyone heard it before, in which he bashes the gay people. “Let's face the reality; whatever is said in a positive light can't get out. I don't perform the song anymore. The reality is, I've gone past that. I don't advocate violence, Rastafari is not about that." Guess what? after the meeting, he was able to proceed with his concert with no protest, everything went smoothly. I agree he needs to make his money but it's not fair. Gay and lesbians are always bashing straight people so why can't he just do what HE wants and is pleased with??? - Do you agree with Buju for speaking with the activists? Do you plan on boycotting him for it? Do you feel he is somewhat accepting them? |
