The Whitfield are celebrating Christmas together this year. They haven't had a Christmas dinner in 4 years. Each of the 6 brothers and sisters has different drama. The oldest Quentin owes 25000$ to some hustlers and decides to go spend Christmas with his family unknowingly that his mother has been dating Joseph for the longest. He can't stand him for the fact that this is his father's place. Michael wants to sing but his mother is completely against it because of their father who she never really loved but decided to stay with him for their sake. Claude is in the army and he has two secrets that he has to be able to tell his family. Lisa married with two kids will have to fight her own demon. Melanie has a man and Kelli is the independent educated woman with no man, those are the only two who seems to have everything good happening. Everything Will come out this Christmas. Many stories will unfold, some love will be shattered. Will they be able to spend a good Christmas, put their problems aside or will their demons destroy it?
A part of this movie is repetitive. If i didn't know better I'de say Tyler Perry wrote this movie. A part of his cast are the same in each Tyler Perry movies. Even the Mother's name at first sounds like Madea as well, even tho spelled Ma'Dere. It even reminds me of "Soul Food" the Movie with Whitney Houston. Some part of the story ended with a question mark. Like you end up saying uh? how did he reach there? what happened? The movie wasn't that bad. A little long but its cute to see Chris Brown acting. I also feel, the movie was mostly too centered on "Chris brown". The Whole singing etc etc. But Brother can sing I'll have to admit (again). The Moral of the story is good as well : Family stays family so deal with it and spend some time with them. Some good jokes here and there and some funny act as well. Just thinking about it making me laugh. I would definitely suggest you to cop it when it comes out on dvd. Right after Christmas dinner, everyone's belly is full and it will definitely remind you that On Jesus Birthday to cherish the ones you love. This movie came out better then I've expected and even gave me an even better idea on how to spend Christmas this year. Rate 7.2/10 |
