Another movie inspired by a true story directed by Denzel Washington and he is also a cast in the movie. Melvin B. Tolson is a teacher at Wiley College. He is inspired to start his own debate team. This debate team will go against different black college to very prestigious white college, to debate about random things like, why black student can't go to the same college as white etc. Filled with different obstacle, from Love drama, racist drama, Denzel Washington brings us another vibrant real life story to television.
At first i wasn't interested in the movie, it took me a little while before getting into it. It's not quite my kind of movie but it's very interesting. You get to learn a lot of things from our history. Like where "lynching" negros came from and a lot more stuff. Like Usual Denzel delivers a powerful message in this movie. It also shows what kind of struggle the students had to go through. This movie reminds me a bit of Malcolm X movie. Both fighting to get the proper rights by a different way. There's a little suspense. At Some point i thought someone was going to die. Acting was on point like usual. With Actors like Forest Whitaker and Denzel Washington Can You honestly Go wrong? The Only person that i would have changed was Jurnee Smollett (She's the light skinned big chick girl who played in roll bounce and cosby show when she was a kid). She's an okay actress, she did ok in the movie but she isn't in the same league as the other one i would have taken someone else who has a more powerful impact for that kind of movie. It's a good movie for those who like Black History movies.
