she the one who wrote butterflies.. the song that mj did 4 invincible album
Last month i was flipping channels and stopped on this network we have here called MuchMoreMusic... and I saw this chubby white girl sitting in a chair singing (i guess her weight and race are irrelevant.. but the point was her voice was surprising). The song/video was the first single (Rolling in the Deep) off her sophomore album. Prior to this event I had only heard the name Adele and all i knew about her was the name was associated to British singer. I decided to look into her and was pleasantly surprised.
As stated before this is singer Adele's second album, titled 21 (her age while writing the material). Her debut was 19 (again a reflection of her age while writing). I'm not quite sure how to describe her sound... its not quite RnB.. not quite blues.. not quite jazz... not quite folk .. a lil bit of country, but i guess more of a nice combination of several styles. I would say her voice is comparable to someone like Jazmine Sullivan.
Unlike most artists today, all but one of the songs on this album was written or at least co-written by Adele. Most of the tracks are more soulful/sad love songs, which is fitting since she stated much of the material was written in response to a break-up. I have always thought the best inspiration is actual emotional events in life. No special guests on this album, all Adele. I guess she wouldn't be considered a sex icon, or isn't known for gallivanting in her undies on stage, which is probably why i haven't heard much about her in the 'media'. Only gripe is alot of the material is similar... I guess dude mustve did her dirty.
Tracks I Likes: Rolling in the Deep, Turning Tables, Someone Like You, and Set Fire to the Rain
