Aqua - Megalomania Album Review

so the other day i was browsing the net and came across this album... immediately i went oooooooooooooo aqua is back!!! (dont judge me i used to LOVE them when i was younger)... so naturally i grabbed the album. A couple days later i decided to give it a listen top to bottom.... i was not amused :(



This is Aqua's first studio album since Aquarius almost ELEVEN years ago. In that time they had broken up, only to re-form a few years ago. This is NOT the same aqua who did barbie girl, dr jones, my oh my, and quite a few other dance classics. It seems as if they attempted to change their sound in order to appeal to the new generation of dance. Dont get me wrong, change can be good, but it sounded way out of their element and I wasnt feeling it. Many of the songs sound too generic which is the opposite of what I'm used to from them. One of the reasons I was such a big fan back at the peak WAS their different sound(at least different to me). I guess it wasnt 'bad' by today's standard of dance music.... but it didnt feel like AQUA to me :(
