i saw the trailer. and if anything bothers me more than creepy old folks its creepy kids... havent seen it yet tho
Arthur Kipps is a young lawyer who lost his wife when she was giving birth. He still has visions of her and is facing financial crisis and has no choice but to accept an assignment to sort out papers from a dead woman’s house in remote village. When he arrives, strange things happen, kids committing suicide, seeing ghosts and much more. Will he be able to solve the mystery of this remote village?
I had no expectation of the movie, just liked the trailer and It wasn’t as bad as some may have thought. The story line was fairly easy to follow, development was at an extremely slow pace, which gave you time to speculate. It definitely did spooked me a few times and this is a first in a very long time. It is your typical, old fashion, ghost story, with little to no spectacular effect which brings the “realness” of the haunted house. The special effect, the dolls, toys, added the extra touch to it as well. The set up, the house, the location, was the final touch. Daniel Ratfliffe did an amazing job. My only issue about the movie was that not only did they build up the story nicely but the end felt rushed and too “hollywood”. There were so many questions unanswered at the end and thought It did not live up to the entire movie. Why is the woman still haunting the house? Why is she still forcing the children to kill themselves, especially that she has her son’s body? Are there any ancestors? That were mostly the answers that remained unanswered. Nonetheless, I would definitely suggest anyone who enjoys spooky, old fashioned style, you will definitely enjoy this one.

it might help if u still have access to the movie.. but if not jus take my word for it
so he puts the boy on the bed and she comes for him... but when she goes over to the boy and leans over he yells 'NOOOO YOU'RE NOT MY MOTHER',.. she then immediately turns back to arthur and screams before disappearing
and then u hear her whispering something about i will never forgive you blah blah
so in a way she didnt get her 'son' back.. he was raised by her sister and never really knew his mom so he did not recognize her
if you've ever heard that creepy story about la llorona its very similar... her kids died and then she killed herself... but she cant get into heaven without her kids so she wonders around taking other folks kids...
a variation of la llorona

Nah didn't catch that....that was probably the part i had gone for to the bathroom.so he puts the boy on the bed and she comes for him... but when she goes over to the boy and leans over he yells 'NOOOO YOU'RE NOT MY MOTHER',.. she then immediately turns back to arthur and screams before disappearing
but that was the climax
ye.. if u dont hear that part then the ending jus seems dumb... i think thats why so many ppl down rate it on imdb.. and if u look at the message boards a lot of ppl have the same questin about why she was still mad
it was jus a bad call on the directors part.. because the scream/thriller soundtrack was so loud that it sort of drowned out the boy's voice
ps. at the end she looked right at me
