Barbee to drop inspirational song for women
Singer Barbee who has been nominated for three EME awards this year, is now in studio working on a song dubbed Lift Your Head Up which seeks to inspire women going through turbulent emotional episodes to persevere despite the odds.
Dancehall insiders say the song may have semi-autobiographic elements.
"Barbee has been doing very well in Jamaica, and her three nominations, one for Give It Up; with Beenie Man in the best dancehall collaboration category, another for the Junior Kelly combination Missing You in the best reggae collaboration category, and the other for Best New Female Artiste,” publicist Ray Alexander told One876Entertainment.com.
Beenie Man has credited Barbee’s good business sense and network of industry contacts which helped him secure a much talked-about cameo during Alicia Keys’ performance of her hit single, No One during last year’s AMA awards. Rumours have been circulating for months that Beenie and Barbee have been romantically involved but a series of recent events has given the local media the impression they are intimately involved such as suggestive pictures taken at Milk's Birthday Bash and rumours of verbal arguments and such.
The couple recently went to Antigua together where Beenie Man performed at the 20/20 cricket event. A photograph was taken of the two by the Antigua Sun where they seemed quite cozy together. It is being reprinted here with the permission of the paper's editor.
