Beenie Man Tax Evasion Trial Date Released

Dancehall artiste Moses Davis, aka Beenie Man, who is accused of owing the Jamaican Government millions of dollars in taxes, appeared in court this morning, strongly disputing the J$47 million tax bill that has been levied against him. Beenie Man has maintained that he does not owe the government any income tax, and blames his former management company, Shocking Vibes, for his dilemma.

Back in October 2007 when the charges were first raised, he had said that he was unaware of any taxes being owed, and that Shocking Vibes was responsible for paying any taxes over the period that they managed him.

The case is now set to go to trial on April 29.
