Oprah Winfrey will end her long-running talk show in 2011, according to a spokeswoman for her Chicago-based company, Harpo.

“She’s going to announce the end of the show on tomorrow’s live show,” the spokeswoman said. “The Oprah Winfrey Show” airs at 10 a.m. eastern. Asked if Winfrey would make her announcement at the top of her show, the spokeswoman said “I’d expect so, but it’s a live show.”

Winfrey’s show has played a role in propelling books up the best-seller lists, and her guests have included a wide-range of luminaries, including Tom Cruise, Barack Obama, and more recently, Sarah Palin.

Winfrey plans to launch a new television network, OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, with Discovery Communications. She is the executive producer of the new film “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire.” She also provides the voice for the character of Eudora in the coming Disney animated film “The Princess and the Frog.”
