Rapper T.I., who was arrested over the weekend on federal weapons charges, was ordered to remain in custody at least until Friday, during a brief appearance in federal court Monday afternoon. But his attorneys say they aim to exonerate him on all charges.

A federal magistrate said he must remain in custody for now. Prosecutors are asking that T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., be held without bond until his trial, which could be several months away.

U.S. Magistrate Alan Baverman scheduled a hearing on Friday to determine whether there was probable cause for Harris' arrest and whether he will qualify for bond before trial.

Harris was wearing a black shirt and black pants, with his hands cuffed and his legs chained, when he was led into the courtroom.

He made eye contact with family members and sat in front of them.

He answered "Yes, sir," and "Yes, your honor," when asked if he had been provided a copy of charges agaiinst him and whether he understood the charges.

During the hearing the courtroom was filled with a standing-room-only crowd. Those who arrived too late were forced to stand outside the courtroom.

Dwight Thomas, attorney for Harris, said "We're looking for complete exoneration in this case. Our objective is to completely exonerate him."

His other defense attorney, Steve Sadow, said the defense needed more time to prepare for the bond hearing, so they asked for a continuance to Friday.

The defense will move for bond and believes conditions can be set to ensure Harris is no danger to the community. "We truly believe that Judge Baverman will be able to find that under the law a reasonable bond can be set," Sadow said.

Federal sentencing guidelines say that if convicted, Harris could face almost certain prison time. He could face at least five years in prison if convicted of all charges.

A source close to Tameka "Tiny" Cottle has confirmed that Tiny is pregnant again with T.I.'s baby. The sex of the baby is unknown. The baby would be the couple's second child together. Tiny delivered a stillborn baby girl this past March and the couple were determined to have another baby.

Meanwhile, T.I., real name Clifford Harris, was denied bond in a federal magistrate court today. In attendance at the proceedings were Tiny, two of T.I.'s other baby mamas and all of T.I.'s children except for King who remained at home. Tiny, who was arrested on marijuana and Ecstasy possession on Saturday, took King to visit his father in jail yesterday. I'm told the first thing T.I.P. did was apologize to Tiny.

My source informed me that King is still traumatized from the raid which took place at T.I.'s home in College Park on Saturday. ATF agents simultaneously broke down the front door while smashing out windows in the back of the house and tossing stun grenades into the house. King, 3, was in a downstairs room playing at the time of the raid. The other children had just left the home to go to acting class. I'm told T.I.'s 15-year-old nephew ran out the back door and was tackled and stomped by ATF agents.

While agents found T.I.'s gun collection in his bedroom safe, no drugs were found in the home. Many have questioned why T.I. had such an arsenal in the first place. The answer is simple: boys love guns. My brother, Ray, has been an avid gun collector since his teens so I have no problem believing that. My brother obtained his license to carry a concealed weapon at the age of 18. He quickly amassed a collection of guns much larger than T.I.'s collection. Today, my brother, who never attended college, owns a GNC store in Dunnedin, Florida (a suburb of Tampa). My brother has never shot anyone.

It's easy to question why T.I. was buying machine guns and silencers, but what gun collector (my brother included) doesn't own a machine gun? It doesn't mean they intend to start a war. I imagine it would be difficult for a boy like T.I. to turn down the chance to own a machine gun. It doesn't make him a bad person.

Family friends state the bodyguard, whose initials are C.W., had a license to purchase certain weapons legally and offered to purchase guns for T.I. from the moment he started working for T.I. in July. That should have been a red flag. The family source said T.I. is not doing well in federal custody. "This is very hard on T.I.P.," said the source.

Update October 19th. Bond Denied

T.I. will remain in jail at least until next week after a judge declined to rule on a bond request from the rapper's defense team on Friday (October 19). The hearing took place at the Federal Courthouse in downtown Atlanta.

According to CNN, despite a pledge to put up $2.2 million in bond, including equity in the rapper's two homes and separate bonds backed by five of the top executives at Atlantic Records and Warner Bros. Records, Magistrate Alan Baverman said he would need more time to consider the bond request in the case, in which T.I. is charged with trying to illegally purchase machine guns and silencers.

T.I.'s Saturday arrest and subsequent jailing without bond came at a time when the rapper was about to enter a crucial period in his transition from hip-hop kingpin to mainstream media mogul. His endorsements, movie deals, tour dates, fashion line and new album are in limbo while he awaits trial.

exactly like you just said if someone else does the same crime the basic thing is not to argue that the black man should get something less or whatever but if you gonna set a standard for a crime for examle if the law decides well 5 years and 1 million in fines for gun possession then let it be like that for everyone with no regards to race or social stature.

It dont make any sense trying to put the black man in jail for 20 years and charge him 5 million cause then what gonna happen, the black people gonna say that the law aint for them. and then it gonna lead to them not trusting the law and deciding to take matters into their own hands which is what happening a lot these days.

And i dont think if someone famous gets locked up for gun charges and they wanna decide to say make an example of that person it gonna change other people because they gonna basically say well just cause he was a star he got treated so harshly but hell me a poor man in the ghetto they aitn going even study me. To me i think individuals make their decisions and these decisions can be affected by the immediate environment they live in but it aint going be based upon what a star doing or not.


well it have the stupid ones who base their life on what the stars do but is not the majority.
