Despite recent photos of the pop stars getting thisclose in a swimming pool in Jamaica, Chris, 18, tells MTV News UK in a brand new interview: “[From] a relationship standpoint I am a single guy, I am definitely single.”

When pressed by the music channel, however, Chris did allude to a special someone in his life: “I have a close friend but it’s not like a relationship, I’m not trying to settle down,” says the Kiss Kiss singer. “I’m only 18, so I’m just trying to live my life and have fun.”

Meanwhile, in the wake of those pool pics, Rihanna, 20, has told the press: “I’m single. If a good guy comes along we’ll make it work, but for now I’m having fun being a single woman.”
