In any situation like this, you have to question the motives of the person wanting to undertake a task such as immortalizing an important figure (remember how Jennifer Lopez playing Selena catapulted her into stardom?). What does Meagan Good get from doing this? And is there really a need to re-immortalize the immortal? Anyone who knew about Aaliyah when she was alive still have a place in their heart for her... a movie won't make the image stick in their mind longer......
I don't think anyone should be doing a movie on Aaliyah's life. But if it had to be done, the actress would have to be believable. In other words, have the presence (Aaliyah's aura, Aaliyah's classiness, the relaxed vibe you'd get after listening to an Aaliyah tune, etc.). To me, none of those choices fit the ticket. You'd have to get someone with Sanaa Lathan's demureness (sp?), Keshia Chante's look, Jada Pinkett's class, and prolly Ciara's singing voice... whoever it is, they have some very particular shoes to fill.....
