Confirmed : Keisha Chante To Play Aaliyah - Page 2

guess the heard everyone's complaint about beyonce : Should Beyonce Destroy Aaliyah's Legacy?

Canadian(Ontario)-born R&B singer Keisha Chante has been confirmed to play Aaliyah in a much-anticipated biopic set for release next year.

According to the National Post, the ink is dry on Chante's contract to portray the R&B singer in the as-yet-titled biopic.

Chronicling the life of the R&B star that brought magic to both the screen and the studio, Aaliyah's biopic will attempt to cover the singer's journey up to her untimely death in 2001.

Chante, a successful R&B singer who released "2U" in 2006, will also star in a new television series entitled "Soul," set to hit the 'small screen' early 2009.

The "Get To Know You" singer is also plotting the release of her third studio album due next year.

While a release date has not been set, the Aaliyah biopic is rumored to be hitting theaters mid-2009.

Anyway ... she doesnt look like Aaliyah and she cant sing that well ... but at least she is a better choice that Megan Hood

And i was just watching Queen of the Damned.She resembles her slightly but hey no one is gonna look exactly like her.just hope she does aaliyah justice

damn half a year went by i and i aint never seen this thread.

I like the pic to play Aalyiah. she resembles her, and i like tha fact she's not supper popular like beyonce or ciara.

she's pretty i give her props and actually can't wait to see her. haven't heard any of her songs but thats fine by me.

i think the make up artists will do a great job on the movie set too!

I have mix feelings about this.

But if you depend on me to choose smaddy to play Aaliyah, it would take forever cuz nobody would be perfect enough..
