Michael Jackson Died.
Last night it was suspected his collapse could have been caused by an overdose of painkiller.
An Emergency Room source at UCLA hospital said Jackson aides told medics he had collapsed after an injection of potent Demerol — similar to morphine.
A Jacko source said: “Shortly after taking the Demerol he started to experience slow shallow breathing.
“His breathing gradually got slower and slower until it stopped.
“His staff started mouth-to-mouth and an ambulance was called which got there in eight minutes “Butfound he was in full respiratory arrest, no breathing and no pulse. They started full CPR and rushed him to hospital.
“When he arrived they started resuscitation, giving him heart shocks and inserted a breathing tube and other supportive measures to try and save his life.
“He never regained consciousness. The family was told that he had passed.”
As news spread of Jackson’s death, thousands of fans gathered outside the hospital.
Many were dressed in the eccentric singer’s trademark costumes and others blasted out his smash-hit tunes.
Family lawyer Brian Oxman said the star collapsed at his rented home in LA’s Holmby Hills area while brother Randy was present.
Los Angeles City Fire Department confirmed the emergency call was made from Jackson’s home.
“The call came in because a person was not breathing,” said a spokesman.
“When the team arrived, they saw that CPR was already in progress by someone at the home.
“The person not breathing was transported to UCLA Medical Centre.”
Other stunned family members said that Jackson, who was due to begin a series of comeback concerts at London’s O2 arena next month, “was in really bad shape”.
The singer had been staying at the LA house while he rehearsed for his comeback tour.
More than 750,000 tickets had been sold for the former King of Pop’s “This is It” concerts.
The opening dates were postponed last month after concert promoters AIG said Jackson needed more time to rehearse the complex dance routines.
But after The Sun revealed that he was suffering from skin cancer there were fears that he was not fit enough to complete the tour.
Experts found spots of skin cancer on his upper body and pre-cancerous cells on his face.
Jacko’s close pal Uri Geller was “too upset for words” last night.
He said: “The whole world is absolutely devastated and I am lost for words because everyone expected him to come to England to do his concerts.
“He was in good health. He was rehearsing, dancing, practising for the shows in England and I am shocked, that is all I can say.”
Jacko had been blighted by a string of past health problems — including rumoured heart trouble.
But he had vowed to perform his £150million comeback gigs.
He is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince “Blanket” Michael Jackson II.
Rumor : Possible Drug Overdose
"Michael was non-responsive when he arrived in the emergency room. They didn't call a time of death until he was here. They tried to revive him, then said he was dead. A few different people were with him but they were all giving conflicting information. The sense of a possible drug overdose is lingering. They're sending him in for an autopsy."
Lawyer Warned Everyone
The Jackson family lawyer just spoke on ABC and said that he has witnessed Michael and incorrect use of prescription drugs. He said it has been happening for the past couple of years. He said he will be very vocal about it if the autopsy report points to the cocktail of 7 medications he believes Michael has been taking. Apparently the lawyer has been trying to warn everyone around Michael of his concerns for a while now. "If you think that the case of Anna Nicole Smith was an abuse, it is nothing in comparison to what we have seen in Michael Jackson's life," Oxman told CNN.
Multiple People Thought he wasn't looking and doing well
when the fan got to the stage, she was horrified. "He is a skeleton," she wrote Monday in an email to other Jackson fans. Worse, she said, was seeing her idol surrounded by people she deemed too frightened to say anything. "I have to say: He may die."
Three days later, Jackson, 50, collapsed in his rented Holmby Hills mansion – with his personal physician on the premises. His heart stopped; he wasn't breathing. the world had lost one of the most successful artists in music history.
Jackson rehearsed at the Staples Center on June 24 in Los Angeles, the day before with "great energy," Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich tells PEOPLE. "He wasn't giving it full out. But vocally he had started to really project. I thought he was in great form," who was at the rehearsal.
Jackson had even signed on The Incredible Hulk's Lou Ferrigno as his personal trainer, although the two hadn't worked out together in two weeks.
Yet while many in the entertainment world expressed sadness and shock, a different, more unsettling reaction came from several people close to Jackson and his family, who describe Jackson as unavoidably thin and fragile.
Filmmaker Bryan Michael Stoller, who visited Jackson in April, was shocked by his weight loss. "I hugged him and it was like hugging bones," he tells PEOPLE. "After seeing him, I never thought he would complete the tour."
Says Dr. Firpo Carr, a friend and confidante of Jackson's, "I sensed something was wrong and, quite honestly, I wasn't terribly surprised when I got the news. I would get word from people in his camp that things weren't quite right."
A source close to the singer who didn't want to be identified adds: "Michael hasn't been feeling well. All last week he'd stopped coming out of his house to see his fans. He was doing that every day."
As part of his preparations for the high-stakes UK concert tour, Jackson had been training – hard. He has put in 10-hour rehearsals, a witness says, for the sort of stage spectacle fans had come to expect. Promoters insisted the 50-year-old entertainer was physically ready for the rigors of a full tour. But there was concern among some in his inner circle that Jackson might push too hard: "They didn't want him to overtax himself," family friend Kevin McLin tells PEOPLE. "You look back in history, he never completed all the dates of his shows because he gave so much in each performance – he would go non-stop for two hours."
According to the fan at Jackson's rehearsal who tried to raise the alarm among those who adored him, the combination of risk factors seemed dangerously close to claiming its victim.
"We all love Michael really much. We all want to see his shows. We all think about how we will be [in the] first row," the fan wrote earlier in the week. "How will you do all of these things if during the third concert he faints on stage, and if his heart stops during his way to the hospital? How will you feel when you will talk with other fans and will say: We knew he was too skinny to perform?"
Addicted To Drugs?
As far back as 2006, members of Michael Jackson's family were terrified that his escalating dependence on prescription drugs had become a danger to his life – and attempted an intervention in Las Vegas.
"The family believes Michael is addicted," a family insider told PEOPLE. "There was an intervention in Las Vegas. Janet was on the phone, but Randy, Jackie and Rebbie were there in person," the source said, referring to several of Michael's eight siblings.
"Michael got p---ed off. He said he wasn't on drugs. But they didn't believe him."
At the time of the Vegas intervention, another source close to the family blamed a Jackson aide for supplying the superstar with drugs from prescriptions acquired from multiple doctors.
"[The aide] has contacts wherever they are," said the source. In addition to consuming alcohol, Jackson takes "straight morphine, Demerol and opiates like Oxycontin. He also takes Valium and Xanax," said the insider.
"Michael is a clinically functioning addict and these are the most dangerous," the source continued. "They stop and start. These are the ones that OD ... It could happen any minute."
Drug Seized
Life & Style is reporting that the police have seized "bags of prescription drugs" at Jackson's Holmby Hills home, according to Jacko's attorney, Brian Oxman. Oxman told the mag, "Police seized bags of material from his house. They were looking for drug vials and syringes. I don't know if they found syringes, but there would have been a lot of drug vials." Additionally, if the autopsy reveals an overdose of prescription drugs is to blame for the star's death, Oxman is "prepared to name names of doctors who prescribed them." The autopsy is currently underway. \
