| One in three African-American women has experienced domestic violence, and nearly 30 percent of us are likely to be in physically abusie relationships at any given time. Black women abuse at a rate of 35% higher than white women and between 20-24 are at a greatest risk. Even scariest is also that 90% of all family violence defendants are never prosecuted because later victims doesn't usually follow.30% of teen say they are text-messaged 10 to 30 times an hour by a partner asking what they're doing. 35% of female victims said they did not report the abuse to dpolice because it was a private matter. A survey found that 46% of people ages between 12-19 thought Rihanna had provoked her attack. Let's not forget Rihanna wasn't the only one. Robin Givens has spoken up about that, Pam Pinnock who wrote a book talking about the abuse she got from Mike tyson and even Juanita Bynum the church lady, her husband hit her live on the street. in 1993, Diane Hawkins, Mother of 6 had been disemboweled and her heart cut out while her 13 years old daughter had been partial decapited. 13% of teen girls have reported being physically hurt in a relationship. But why don't they speak? Why don't they do anything about it? Most of the time by them, they are isolated and ashamed of it. And some are mistaken a bible-passage - (1 peter 3:1). Something that i liked from reading that magazine and i quote it :"When a man abuses a woman and gets away with it, other men benefit. It reinforces the entitlement and privilege that men have." You as a mother and father is to talk to your teens. Never to hit, or emotionally or mentally abuse anyone. How to get help? There is also for website loveisrespect.org and 1866-331-9474 which is a 24/7 resources for national for abuse help line. But there's one thing i believe they DIDN'T quote in the article is that some women i know you should never hit but some women do provoke the men by saying certain thing or what they do. Yes it's wrong to hit but some ARE indeed driven like anyone in rage you react and regret. So women know what to say when to say it and how to say it and it works both ways for men.

Dhaz Dollarz: 500Gifts: 14 | Some women have adopted the victim mentality, believing that they deserve to get beaten and abused. I agree with MsK... it starts young. If a woman isn't taught at a young age to love and respect herself, she'll grow up not knowing how precious she is. In order to feel good about herself, she'll need a man who claims to love her. She'll even allow any ruffian to determine her self-worth, and once that happens, she'll allow them to do most anything to her. |
