Whitney Houston Tells Fans 'I Never Left'
Whitney Houston said she was "overwhelmed" by the response she received from her fans as she performed on Wednesday's "Good Morning America" in New York City's Central Park.
"The love, the support, your prayers mean so much," she said, standing onstage between "GMA" hosts Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts after her performance.
Houston released her highly anticipated new album, "I Look to You," this week. This is her first album of new material in seven years. "I never left," she exclaimed to a crowd of cheering fans.
Despite the love from fans, Houston apologized for her voice not being quite 100 percent.
"I'm so sorry," she told the crowd. "I did 'Oprah.' I've been talking for so long ... I talked so much ... my voice ... I shouldn't be talking. I should be singing."
With that remark, she launched into "I'm Every Woman."
On the show, Sawyer and Houston discussed their long-running friendship and Sawyer said she was worried about Houston when she saw her seven years ago. "Don't be worried anymore," Houston responded. "If you know God, don't be worried."
