The Big Apple is a big town – but is it big enough for Mariah Carey and Rihanna?
Reports from across the pond reveal although both of them were getting down at New York's M2 Ultralounge on Halloween, neither appeared to acknowledge the other's presence.
A source tells PageSix.com that Rihanna, dressed up like a tiger, hung out in a booth with three lady friends and rapper Ne-Yo, but didn't cross the dance floor to greet Mariah at any point.
Meanwhile Mariah and her husband Nick Cannon – both dressed as angels – remained in their own VIP area across the club.
"It was Mariah's party, but Rihanna didn't want to be seen with her," reports to the source. "And Mariah was not going over to greet Rihanna."
Mariah needed six guards to clear a path to the bathroom so her wings wouldn't be dislodged."
However, it doesn't seem that there is any real rivalry – other than in the charts – between the two stars, as a statement from Mariah's rep suggests.
"There were 1,000 people there and, of course, she needed security," said Carey's spokesperson.
"She heard a rumour that Rihanna was there but she never saw her. She loves Rihanna and of course would have said hello."

...tabloids always trying to start something espeically if it makes the women seem childish since that is soo believeable..lol
