Why Rappers Aren't What They Used To Be? Beanie Signed to 50 cent?

Yes another talk about "hip-hop" is dead, why rappers are coming out with trash etc.

Well Dmx had a few words which I believe anyone who thinks about making it in the industry should read, re read and probably print it and keep it.

“The highest paid artist gets like 26 cents off a dollar. And they sell your shit for $20. I can’t use my own music without getting your permission,” said DMX in the interview.

“I wrote it. Paid a ni**a for the beat. I paid you for loaning me the money,” X added. “I paid you back your money, now we splitting because you owed me the money but you own my shit. I don’t owe you a motherf***ing thing. Why is you holding on to my shit? And that’s standard. Get the fu*k outta here man.”
I think another reason for that is also every rapper released few mixtape before even releasing albums. Hell Mixtape sells more then albums. So why waste your time with albums?

In other news Beanie Sigel reportedly signed with 50 cent's label! Cried baby got his wish i guess. It's been said 50 has mention that if Beanie would sign with him, he would get 800, 000$. Well Good for you, now get off Jay-z and make some music alright.

What do you think REALLY killed the industry?

Exactly what X is talking about. . . the fact that the label owns everything, pays u jack shit... and still own ur shit after you don't owe them anything... and people wonder how these rappers go broke so easy... itz cuz they don't have no damn money . . .

Also the industry is oversaturated with semi-grade music and the BOOTLEGGIN!... Yes I'm talkin about YOU Mr. Bit torrent/Limewire

Well if they started putting out quality music again then maybe their wouldnt be so much downloading I damn sure aint gonna pay between $12-$15 for an album with 2 good songs on it and half the time the songs already on the radio being played a hundred times a day so by the time the album comes out your tired of it.

As far as what I think killed the industry is the record labels they dont really know quality music their main focus seems to be gettin the artist to put out that one catchy radio tune to get spins and then the rest of the album is garbage and the rappers dont really have any creative control they could make some quality songs but if the record label says they dont like it either you change it or they push your album on da backburner but **** mainstream i dont even listen to the radio any more theres a lot of good underground artists that record labels are not willing to promote because they not talkin bout that gimmick bs example are Z-Ro,Trae,Grafh,Stat Quo,State Property,Joe Budden,Bone of course lol (waits for Mz smarty pants to comment ) although thier not underground I **** wit Beans too that man is a beast on da mic and also to add from what i understand most rappers make their money from touring and other side ventures
