Jaicko is a new artist from Barbados. A young one who seems to be very promising in the industry but obviously we need to push him as hard as we pushed all of our other Caribbean acts such as Sean Paul, Rihanna, and push him to the top.

Born and raised in Barbados, he first took the stage at the tender age of 9. Noticing he had talent he first hit the studio at 10 years old, but didn't actually started as a singer but as a rapper, he knew he could sing but only realize how well he could do later on. His first live performance was in a well known club in St-Lawrence.

Being an independent and dominating the Top 40 is what pushed him and his father to go even further and harder. Being his own writer and producer with his father's help he brought us : http://www.dancehallareaz.com/forum/...eah-audio.html
Here are the 5 Questions we asked Jaicko :

Mz K : What should your fans or upcoming fans expect from this album?

Jaicko : My fans should expect some great music. The concept of this album is life from the eyes of Jaicko. I’m bringing my Caribbean swag to the American market.

Mz K : By the fact that you are from Barbados, where Rihanna and Shontelle come from do you feel there is even more pressure because you "somewhat" have to live up to that hype?

Jaicko :I don’t feel any pressure. I admire both Rihanna and Shontelle because they paved the way for artists like me from Barbados to launch careers in America. I’m going in my lane and I have my own expectations for success. I can only hope to make my country proud!

Mz K : How did you and your dad (who obviously had to work hard to get where you are now) feel the first time you heard your song "Oh Yeah" in the radio?

Jaicko : It was an amazing feeling! It received a bunch of radio time in Barbados. My Dad has played a fundamental role in my career so it’s always great to share in these moments with him.

Mz K : Name your 5 top songs that you would put on repeat on your iPod?

Jaicko : Top 5 is pretty hard but I can definitely do Top 3! These are all old school songs.

1. Stevie Wonder – Overjoyed

2. Michael Jackson – Human Nature

3. SWV – Right Here (Human Nature Mix)

Technically 2 and 3 are similar but I’m a huge Michael Jackson fan! :)

Mz K : What advice or message would you send to everyone out there (from fans, upcoming fans, and people trying to make it)?

Jaicko : Try your best to stay humble and stay motivated. It’s easy to lose focus so you should always keep a clear vision of the goal at hand. For more info on me be sure to follow me on Twitter, twitter.com/Jaicko

Stay on the lookout for his upcoming album : "Can I" set for January 2010. Thanks To Michael Jr Adams!
