Friendly Advice...
How do know when things are exactly as they seem, and you don't have to look any deeper?
And how do you know when things aren't as they seem, and that you should look deeper? Examples please... ![]()

There is a fine line with this because ppl do try to pass of advice or criticism as friendly when in fact they may not really have ur best interest at heart but instead have ulterior motives…I guess a way to make that determination is to see if and how that advice benefits the advisor…yet even when there are ulterior motives it does not necessarily mean that the advice in its entirety has to be dismissed…there may be instances where it may have some merit…I believe that with any advice, criticism, whether u think its positive or negative…u as a human being need to have a bridge where u look at what’s being said before u allow it to cross, before u internalize…this is where this determination process takes place….because if u don’t have that bridge then there is a good chance that u will spend ur life taking everything ppl say personally or making decisions based on someone else’s thoughts and opinions and never trusting your own…
u wanted examples…I’ll use sleepy as an example because I know he doesn’t give a damn...lol…months back sleep gave me some advice...nothing that I hadn’t heard before mind u but anyway…he said that I needed to slow down…life was short so why rush…that I needed to take time to look at pretty things around, that I needed to learn to take naps..lol.. and I needed to get rid of all the men in my life that had drama….vintage Sleep… …now based on the one dimensional person he portrays himself to be on the board, I could have easily dismissed the advice as sleep just pretending to be a friend and setting up something so that eventually I would end up in his bed… ….which can never be put pass sleepy…yet, once I looked at it… there was some truth to what he said…and some of it could be applied to my life…btw that man is far far from being one dimensional… …

iguess u can still use the bridge u just have to add a step to the process...ur own research...and second and third opinions..lol...and then u make ur determination..lol...im making light of it but honestly without the bridge u can drive urself crazy...
