Okay i recently had a conversation with my bf and some interesting things came out.He says that as his girl what he needs from me is to cook for him,clean for him and make sure he's taken care of(u know).Now as yall know this pissed me off cuz it sounds so sexist and I cant be with a sexist,chauvenistic man.Now i do know that as a wife cooking and cleaning is a responsibility but where is the line between is being just that or it being "your place".And what made it worst was when i asked him what he was supposed to do he told me it was to bring home the bacon and throw out the trashNow Dhaz fam,please clarify for ur sista,is it just me or is this dude straight out of the 40s and 50s.

well speakin from my own perspective and what i was taught and raised around...My mother always kept the house clean and a meal on the table when my father came home from work.She never had a problem with doin that. Most of the older women in my family was raised to do the same. Cook and keep the house clean and always have the dinner for him when he comes home. My mother never had to work for anybody a day in her life b/c of my father . so in a way she owes him that respect . She has raised me and my sister while doin so. So i dont have a prob with any of these things at all. But if your husband not doin nothin at all to contribute to the household then thats when u haffi put ur foot down...

my grammy had the choice of that to but she cud not do it.she got a job and my grand daddy tell her he don't have a problem with it just don't pick up no bills in this house..my grammy up to this day don't like stay one spot..
she wan find job now and retired..my grammy still think she young ..
in away my momme like dat too..my daddy takes care of everything but my momme works when she wants and stop when she wants..
me personal i cyan stay in the house all day like dat..i did it to much in my young days ..he'll have bills up his ass cause i'll shop for everything and anything

Hmm I think as women make SURE you are with a man you admire. Something about being silly in love. It's like your happy and proud when you cook and he says "baby, this is good" and when your so amazed at what he does you want to treat him when he gets home.

A clean house just makes for a better life, your children need and deserve a healthy clean enviornment. But if your woman just mopped the floor it's kinda hurtful when a man just throws dirty stuff all over and doesn't acknowledge her.

Basically pick the man that compells you to do for him not the one that demands it. It's a partnership and you help eachother get through tough life.
Back then cooking and cleaning was a job (and only way to pull one's weight) so if a woman is working just as hard maybe help her when she's struggling instead of watching the ship sink (a lot of women may have tough careers and really try hard to do it all). Because a lot of women will try until she breaks and then she's gone.

lol well i aint got cooking on lock yet but hell i ha clean out my room and make sure it dey good. only place that look kinda raggamuffin is the table where i got books and cds and a whole heap a stuff on. but then i dont think it should be like what BK saying about her guy(she cook, clean, etc and he does nothing) and it shouldnt be like (guy be doing a whole heap a thing) i think the best is somewhere in the middle. dont know what the middle is like though
