Hey...I never knew that certain women didn't think they had potential and talent outside the kitchen?! So ...(writes a whole bunch of stuff down, erases it and starts all over again). Let's start with a couple of generalizations:
The average man is stronger physically than the average woman. The average woman lives longer than the average man. The average man has a chest and a penis, while the average woman has breasts and a vagina. Done.
The human bodies (male and female) are built for different purposes. Likewise, the male and female hormones act differently and in turn the male and female psyche. I'm still generalizing here. When a woman is pregnant for instance, she cries when she is happy and sometimes when she is sad. This (crying, not pregnancy) rarely happens in a man's life. I'm not even going to talk further on pregnancy.
Therefore, a typical scenario is: who is responsible for feeding a child from birth to at least 1 year old? If a woman is saddled with this responsibility for a year (generalizing...), does this mean that she has no potential or talent outside breast feeding? Maybe you've never experienced it, but you cannot imagine the pain a woman feels when she realizes that she cannot lactate, let alone have children. The way I see it, being a woman is a privilege, because you chicks get to experience a whole lot of wonderful stuff, while we men spend a lifetime chasing a livelihood. And any woman who wishes to trade her womanhood all in the bid to declare herself equal to man is only belittling herself. All this talk about cooking and cleaning! We're meant to help each other out in a relationship, true, but in different ways, sista. I don't expect wifey to go changing light bulbs in the house or fixing burst pipes. And I do not knock the chicks that do so. Same way, I believe wifey (in whatever capacity) should cook and clean, but I don't knock the man who does so in his house. And this is regardless of whether she's a CEO or prime minister of a nation.
Do try and find the humor in this statement.
