Sperm and Egg donation

how do you feel about sperm and/or egg donation...many women are unable to have kids of their own because of different reasons in cluding these:

Why would a woman not have eggs of her own? Perhaps she lost her eggs due to chemotherapy, disease, menopause, or genetic abnormalities such as being born without a uterus. In the US, approximately 2% of women of reproductive age are infertile, and receiving donated eggs fertilized in a lab by their partner's sperm can offer as much as a 65% chance of pregnancy. Naturally, the success rate for this method of A.R.T. depends on many factors, including the age and health of the egg donor. So let's move on to how you know if you qualify to be a donor

a woman can get paid $5,000.00 plus for her egg...a man gets $50-$100...so yes there is a big difference...some ppl believe its because women have a limited number of eggs as opposed to men who have millions....also for a woman to become a donor she has to take hormones and have surgery for the extraction..the cycle takes 6 weeks...on the other hand men are handed a cup and told to do something they might already be doing everyday..lol....but either way...what are your thoughts on sperm and egg donation....would you or would you not...under what conditions...

I'm for it donations, and lords knows that this a sensitive issue. I have thought about it before, it's something i would do for someone very close to me though; like my sister or a very very close friend.
I didn't know that people get paid to do it?

couldnt do it ...

because no matter which womb that egg gets fertilized in, its still my child ... and i wouldnt be able to deal with the fact that i 'gave away' one of my kids just to be nice

I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, maybe it was meant for them to remain without child. Who am i to tamper with big G's will.

i'm not too sure about it....you wanna carry someone else's seeds might as well just adopt no? it's devastating alright but i doubt i'de be able to just give my eggs.....i don' t know...it's a sticky situation...maybe a family member like Bribri said...but for money? i really doubt it

i dont know...personally i think i would give it to my sis or either of my best friends because i know they would be good mothers...but i dont think i could sell my eggs...now one could argue that technically we "throw" away our eggs every month and men well some "throw" away theirs every hour..

...but seriously tho for some ppl its has become a way to make a living and they also belive they are helping others

I just can't give 'it' away without knowing who,where & how its gonna be used. I feel I must have a say in any offspring that's are from my loins so to speak
