Had my yearly HIV test done today and the lady that drew my blood was telling all these stories about so many guys who come in to see her scared because they had unprotected sex with some questionable women…and so many young healthy looking women come in there only to find out they are hiv+….also the fact that hiv and herpes are on the rise and ppl are not letting their sex partners know of their status…this one woman who had herpes said she didn’t tell anyone because they didn’t ask…
so my question is…if you were hiv+ or had herpes would you let the person know before you had sex with them even if they didn’t ask…
and on the flip side do you ask ppl if they are hiv+ or if they have anything before you have sex…
and how often do you get tested…

by asking it doesnt mean that u are going to go unprotected u know...but it makes them have to look at you and say yes or no...of course you would never give up your sexual health just on someone's word...but it is a way of getting that convo started which it seems like so many ppl are afraid of doing...but yeh...i get one done every year and been doing so since i became sexually active....and altho u know u have done all u can do as far as precautions are concerned it is still a bit nerve wrecking because u just never know...plus that thing can stay dormant for up to a year...

well i have herpes type 2 which casues clod sores and i always tell persons i am dealing with this so that they can make a choice whether they want to deal with me or not. i told my boyfriend this and he understood and he made his choice to be with me and i am happy with it. i dont believe in not telling because if someone catches and its from me i would feel terrible cause i know i did not take precautions to secure myself and the person against catching it.


NB herpes 2 can be turned in to herpes type 1 if one is not careful with proper protection

I guess one could use the excuse that telling would mean u not getting? but everyone has a right to know what they are getting involved with. I'd let whoever know bcuz I'd pretty much be most happy to know in advance if they have something. Before I became more responsible with my sex life...I would just hope the condom did a good enough job. I do yearly checkups now n ever so often im still a lil unnerved while waiting for the results(that plus my phobia of injection needles, so its all that n more )...especially if it was the case where someone who went before me got bad results.

If i was in a situation like that I dont think i could be with anyone for real...... but if i was to get over it and decide to date i am pretty sure i would tell i remember when i was in junior high i had a few friends a couple of them told me if they was they would let out their anger and spread it to any dude which is jacked up I dunno to be honest for real if i was to ever get infected damn.. i think i would jus kill myself I kno ppl can live with it but i dunno not me
