Why So Much Negativity?
You know I was just reading blogs, passing times at work and it just blew me away how much NEGATIVITY i found on some of these black people blogs. Few example
- Solange on oprah, everyone concentrated on the fact she had a perm at "4" then said her mom forbidden the term of good hair, they made their own version and saying she was just being an hypocrite. How so? - Tyra for having her own hair but yet was relaxed. Why can't we be proud of what she IS trying to do? showing the world why skinned color people's hair is? perhaps preventing less kids getting made fun of, in a white area etc? - T-Pain, he's making his money to feed HIS family, what a lot of men aren't even doing why knock HIS hustle? Yeah i have spoken about Soulja boy wasting space but took back my word when i found out about his family he's taking care of. - Barack Obama? I can give you a FULL list of the crap some of these bloggers ONLY concentrates on? - Tameka foster's 4 day camps for young girls to help them have a better self esteem and on the spot calls it a scam and she has to steal money basically implying that she has NOTHING for herself but yet has been in the game longer then some of us even remembers : Usher Seems To Have Moved On - Michael jackson how many have been talking so much bad about him, he didn't wanted to be black etc etc but now that he's dead and lots of money to be made by just posting about him, Now he is everyone's hero. But yet some of these bloggers will be praising T.I a family man YET a repeated convicted fellow? What does he have over the others? I was discussing with one of my coworker and I was talking about how people were pointing fingers at Soulja boy because he made that huge chain and that big car bracelet and she pointed out to me because he's "black" and then mention how No one talked about Paris' hilton dog mansion? Why are people SO negative? Why can't they see the POSITIVE over the negative? and I tend to see that more on "black" blogs comparing to the white ones? I know some will say that's what brings money but even on our everyday life...There's more to it then just the money what IS it? its quite simple ... i believe i've said it here before ...
Black people cherish and hold ignorance in the highest light. If something is positive, we dont care much for it ... but if its about dunceness like expencive cars, rims, grillz, the latest fashion, who has the biggest ass, light skin vs dark skin, GOOD HAIR, who is the baby daddy ... we are fully attentive. There is that old joke that Richard Prior said back in the day ... "if you want to hide shyt from black people, put it in a book"

oh that's so wrong and funny but said on the other hand. Are you like that?
I mean yeah everyone loves gossips it's in human nature but can black people be so bad that they ONLY like negativity? i can't say it's because we love to play ignorant? But i did notice that whenever we have a serious discussion / threads barely anyone tend to reply or even read but YET if it's something about bad gossips / sex these threads gets so many replies.. |

i fully get u missk .. like even wen a black person doin good somebody have to point out some obscure negative angle...
for example: wen oprah built that school ppl were sayin oh.. she's only puttin her name on it.. or wat she was doing was unfair cuz of the requirements to get in blah blah.. (yes i know u guys know i DONT like oprah...but its a personality reason.. and ive said b4 i respect what she has accomplished) and wen usher decided to settle down: ppl were sayin "oh its jus for show so ppl dont think he gay" and den callin his wife ugly and dem tings  i see it to be more prevelant amongst black folk aswell... its like there is that ever present crab inna barrel mindset  |

as i said before in the russell simmons thread...our society has become all about drama and negativity..look at all the silly reality shows that ppl seem to just enjoy because ppl are on there acting petty and mean....seems like ppl just cant be happy seeing positive things happening to others but instead have to be petty, envious and malicious..its like they thrive on other ppl's negative behavior and being miserable and negative is now the standard...
im not saying that by having a positive attitude and looking for the good around means that u ignore whats bad. or that you lose your common sense...Its about setting priorities and giving priority to whats positive in your life and those around you...because life in itself is a positive since it leads to possibilities....being petty, envious and malicious is a direct reflection of whats really going on in someone's life...because if you were living your life doing with and for your loved one's...lviing your life trying to achieve your full potential as a human being...living your life rectifying mistakes from your past, enjoying your present and planning for your future you would not have time for all the petty negativity...you would be to busy with your own life...one thing is for sure misery and negativity loves company and if you let it in it will try its best to take over your life..it will become the dominant emotion..it will permeate every aspect of your life and before you realize it will be all that you have left...  |

it still doesn't help me understand WHY people are more focus on the negative?
Same thing when we try to have an intelligent discussion barely anyone participate but yet when there's about sex or something like that people are all interested? These kind of things just makes me depressed. It amazes me.... |
