lol...girl u know ive reading up on this thing for wks and if there is one thing ive learned is that relaxer really means straightener...not conditioner...lol
oh ok i see...so its about her own hair as opposed to weaves...
and i understand what u are saying about the lotion msk...but to me the lotion moisturizes the skin..the way conditioners moisturize the hair...but the natural texture remains unchanged...the skin and hair is just softer because of the moisturizer...relaxers on the other hand chemically change the natural texture of the hair...
the relaxer like it says...relaxes the hair...making it softer and easier to manage :p
But Blue someone else pointed out that she mention going REAL not NATURAl it was my bad.
To me natural is without weave
Similar to your skin
You use lotion all the time to keep it smooth
Should you call your skin UNatural?

I was thinking the same exact thing when I saw her hair lol. I personally believe this kinda hair transition is closely related to a woman's spiritual growth... which can't be rushed, so in that sense... I get it. And I don't mind the questions, I actually welcome them (as long as I can help in any way possible lol).
It seems like some of the women pictured aren't wearing their hair naturally. In particular: 1, 2, 6, and 8. I thought I was the only one who noticed lol. I didn't post this chart for the same reason lol
yeh..i think the show she did with the kids touched her on a deeper level...and what we are seeing is the conflict of doing what she knows/feels is right for her and what based on her job they think would be a palatable to her tv audience...but i believe she will eventually get there..as u said something u just cant rush...
about the charts...yeh i think in the first link the pics were more to show the size of the curl as opposed to whether it was natural or styled...but it still helped with the typing of the natural ones...i have a better idea of the range...and even found out my own..lol..
inthe the second chart what they call type 4 looks more like hairstyles rather than hair types to me...which is why they didnt have that many sub-types...
wow tisha good find...nothing like a visual aid..lol....this really helps...another question...i know i ask a lot of questions but plz bear with me lol...in the 3B subgroups are those like natural curls... meaning...if they washed their natural hair thats how it would turn out..or is it a styled curl...some of them look natural to me...the hair seem to be "bigger" when its natural..it has that nice "get up and go" look...but in some it looks like the hair was relaxed then styled into curls?...more high maintenance type of thing....and yes i thought tyra would have really gone natural...kinda disappointed in a way..but maybe she sees it as a step at a time...i dont know..

I'm not sure if she makes a distinction between processed and natural hair. She may think it's natural because it's all her hair - no one else's hair is attached to it. I, like you, was expecting something "Big Chop-esque." Natural curly hair... somewhere in the 3B-3C area on the Andre Walker Hair Typing System.
