Bengals defensive end Antwan Odom was taken off the field on a cart after injuring his left Achilles' tendon in the first quarter against the Texans Sunday, and will not return to the game.

Odom, tied for the NFL sacks lead with eight, got hurt on Houston's 12-yard touchdown pass with 48 seconds left in the first quarter Sunday. The training staff felt the lower leg and immediately called for a cart to take Odom off the field.

The defensive lineman has been the key Cincinnati's improved pass rush. He also blocked a field goal attempt on Houston's first possession.

Bengals defensive linemen Domata Peko suffered a knee injury and was announced as probable to return.
